Condolence: Madelyn: I am sure your mother Madelyn was so very proud of you, both as her namesake and her daughter. You have achieved so much and are such an amazingly capable - and personable - attorney and person, we all know the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The way you conduct yourself daily is the best way to honor and memorialize your mother, just as you have always done. As one who has the name of my father, it is something that truly is meaningful but in the larger picture, with someone as talented and capable as you, it is surely said "For those to whom much has been given, much is expected." You certainly have always met that standard and your mother had to be so very proud of you, just as she must have been a proud grandmother as well. I truly wish I could attend visitation on Saturday afternoon in Indiana, PA but I had already committed to visiting with my mother in Wheeling, WV that day and am sure you would be the first to tell me that is the best thing to do. But I will be thinking of you in this time and please accept my most sincere condolences and thoughts and prayers for your mother Madelyn, you and your family. STU BENSON

Condolence: I was saddened to hear of Madelyn's passing. I remember her just as she is in the picture and can see her in the kitchen preparing Sunday dinner which I always loved being invited to since I was a poor college student! Without her motivation and guidance I do not know if I would have stayed at IUP. When I was scared, nervous, and home sick, she encouraged me with her kind words. She even helped me schedule my classes! She and your whole family were an important part of my life since I got engaged at the graduation party your mom planned for me at your home! I remember all of it as if it were yesterday, and I wantd all of you to know what an inspiration your mom was to me, and how very proud I was to have known her. I will never forget her.

Condolence: I was saddened to hear the news about Aunt Madelyn. Even though a lot of time has passed since I’ve seen her, I have many fond memories of her. She was kind to everyone around her and found what was good in other people and always gave everyone her best. I admired her quiet grace, humor, and dignity. As Nana would say, she was a “gem of the ocean.”
Please know that you have my sympathy and that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in
the hollow of His hand.
Love you Nanny. May you rest in peace.
