Mac & cheese
There are two kinds of Mac & cheese:
1- Nearly as good as Nanny's; and
2- No where near Nanny's !
And the same goes for Pot Roast, Pistachio Cake, Brownies and
Deviled Eggs. Of course, everything just tasted better in her kitchen.
And all were welcomed in her home.
She's like Mother Mary in the Heavenly Streets story.
Jesus scolds St Peter when he sees the man he turned away walking toward them:
"I thought I told you not to let him in!"
St Peter (in perfect Irish brogue)- " I didn't my Lord, but sure don't they go round to the side
door, and doesn't your Mother let them in!"
Thank God for Nanny's side door.
